Over the past year, we’ve taken a thoughtful look at how The Family Business Partnership presents itself to the world. Not as a branding exercise for the sake of it, but as a chance to ask a deeper question: Does our outward identity truly reflect who we are and what we offer? More importantly, does it reflect the families we serve, the challenges they face, and the outcomes they’re striving for?
The result is a new visual identity, a new logo, a new website and a clearer way for people to engage with our services. But more than that, it’s a re-alignment. A commitment to showing up in a way that’s authentic, purposeful, and rooted in the kind of relationships we build with families.
Here’s what’s changed, and more importantly, why.
The Tree: More Than a Metaphor
The new logo centres on a flourishing tree, with uneven branches and diverse leaves. There’s a subtle nod in there to the Three Circle Model, an image many in the world of family business will recognise. But for us, it’s not just a metaphor, it’s a mirror of what we see in the work every day.

A family business grows organically. It’s rooted in shared history and shaped by generational influence. Over time, it spreads out, through different branches of the family, new directions in the business, and layers of ownership and leadership. It doesn’t grow in perfect symmetry. And nor should it.
One misconception in family business is that harmony equals uniformity. That flourishing means everyone agreeing, behaving the same way, or having the exact same aspirations. Our experience tells us something different: flourishing is possible because of difference, not in spite of it. The tree in our logo captures that truth. It’s healthy, growing, and expansive, but not rigid. It reflects reality, not fantasy.
This is a crucial message for families who are facing the often unspoken fear that they might have “got it wrong” if there is any form of disagreement. The reality is that their uniqueness can be a strength, not a weakness. Our brand now tells that story visually, before we’ve even exchanged words.
The Orange Leaf: The Individual Within the System
Amid the leaves, one orange leaf stands out. It’s not an accident. That single, vivid leaf is a nod to something we hold dear in our work: the individual matters.
Much of the work in family enterprise, particularly in governance, transition planning, and ownership structures, can become highly systemic, and rightly so. Systems thinking underpins how families can work well together. But systems can sometimes overshadow the people within them. That’s where our focus diverges.
We believe that flourishing doesn’t just happen at the family or business level. It happens within each individual. When one person gains clarity about their role, their aspirations, and their identity within the wider whole, the entire system benefits.
That’s why in all of our long-term engagements, each individual receives one-to-one support. Whether through coaching, reflective practice, or structured mentoring, we work with people as people, not just as shareholders, successors, or family members.
Families come to us because they want better communication, smoother transitions, more cohesive governance, or a more engaged rising generation. All of those outcomes rely on the flourishing of the individuals involved. The orange leaf is our quiet promise that we’ll never lose sight of that.
Why Orange?
We also chose orange intentionally. It’s warm, optimistic, and quietly energetic. It brings contrast, without overpowering. That’s how we aim to work with families too.
Yes, the work we do is serious. It touches on legacy, identity, conflict, responsibility, even mortality. But that doesn’t mean the experience has to be heavy or intimidating.
Families who thrive in the work are those who feel safe enough to be honest, brave enough to go deep, and relaxed enough to laugh at the absurdity that sometimes arises when business and family collide. The orange in our brand is there to signal that we’re human. That we can meet complexity with calm—and that we’ll do it with a sense of warmth and humour when it’s needed most.
The Path
With the rebrand, we’ve also clarified how we speak about and present our services. The Path is our flagship personal development programme for individuals and family groups seeking personal clarity and emotional grounding in the face of complexity.
Its logo features four leaves, laid out like steps in a journey. Again, the orange leaf is present—walking alongside others. Because that’s what this work is about. Not solo introspection, but guided growth with companions who understand the terrain.
The Path is informed by mindfulness principles—not in a spiritual or abstract way, but in a deeply practical one. We help people explore their relationship to thought, emotion, and behaviour, and how that plays out in family dynamics, ownership decisions, and leadership roles.
Families want outcomes like smoother transitions, more confident successors, clearer roles, and less friction. The inner work of The Path makes those outcomes possible. It’s the cultivation of mindset, behaviour, and knowledge—the three roots of flourishing we believe every family system needs.
The Family Business Podcast
We’ve also refreshed the visual identity of The Family Business Podcast. With over 190 episodes, it’s become one of the most respected resources in the field. The new logo, a dynamic circle of ten leaves, reflects the Ten Principles that sit at the heart of our consulting approach.
These principles aren’t boxes to tick. They’re practices to be cultivated. They include things like Empowered Ownership, Visionary Strategic Planning, Human Flourishing, and Constructive Conflict Resolution. These aren’t buzzwords. They’re the conditions we help families create so they can thrive together.
The podcast, now aligned with these principles, offers practical conversations, reflections, and insights that support families wherever they are in their journey, whether they’re grappling with board structure, succession questions, rising generation readiness, or simply wondering what comes next.
Why This Matters to the Families We Work With
So why go to all this effort to rebrand? Because how we show up matters. Our clients aren’t just buying a service. They’re entering a relationship. Often a vulnerable one.
The new brand is a reflection of our values, our clarity, and our intent. It’s designed to say:
- We understand the complexity you’re facing.
- We’re here to walk alongside, not to impose.
- We believe in the power of individuals, not just structures.
- We’re grounded in insight, not buzzwords.
- We take this seriously, but we’ll also help you enjoy the journey.
Whether families come to us because they’re stuck, stretched, or simply seeking to do things with more intention, they deserve a partner who’s clear, consistent, and congruent. Our branding now tells that story on our behalf.
An Invitation to Explore
The launch of our new website marks the next chapter of The Family Business Partnership. You’ll find it easier to explore what we offer, whether that’s long-term consultancy, coaching, or access to our growing library of resources and programmes.
You’ll also find reflections on the real experiences of families like yours. Stories, tools, and insights to help you navigate the challenges of working with those you love.
If you’re new to our world, welcome. If you’ve known us for a while, thank you. We hope this refreshed identity feels like a deepening, not a departure.
Because for us, this isn’t about looking new. It’s about being clear. And clarity, as we often say, is the beginning of flourishing.
Particular thanks must go to the fantastic team at Gecho Agency for their hard work in taking our branding and aligning this with our vision as a business.
